Great Room:
Amassive stone fireplace stands boldly in the great room. Its hearth beckons you to sit and gaze into
the glowing light of a beautiful fire that dances with your thoughts.
The vaulted room is comfortably arranged with an eclectic blend of furnishings, creating Smoky
Mountain lodging that warms your body and soul.
Decorated with antiques, crafts and American Indian motif, this lodge affords you the luxury of
appreciating art and nature at its best.
Music books and works of art are ready to please your senses during your stay, all to help you relax
and enjoy the surroundings.
And it's all just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Bed and breakfast lodging that captures the

Grounds:
Our North Carolina bed and breakfast sits on six acres of manicured grounds with several streams
that flow into the Tuckasegee River. A cascading waterfall runs along the side of the inn. A standing
forest of 100 year old pines are the backdrop.
Rhododendron, hemlocks and fern line the driveway that winds its way to the entrance. You can sit
on the porches and balconies of the lodge and enjoy the river, waterfalls, streams and mountain
views that surround you in this elegant retreat.
If you're looking for out-of-the-way lodging near Dillsboro, Sylva, Cullowhee, Cashiers or Highlands,
North Carolina, The River Lodge is in the perfect location .
Guest Rooms:
You will enjoy a good night's sleep on the queen size mountain made log beds dressed with plush
pillows and cozy comforters. Each room's accessories include wood carvings, American Indian
prints, mission oak, stick, and turn of the century furnishings.
The private baths lend much character. Claw foot bath tubs with brass fixtures await you, along with
separate showers. Pedestal sinks that take you back in time suggest old world charm with new
world conveniences. Scented soaps, plush towels and warm bright colors fill the rooms to make
your bathing experience a delightful one.
In addition to the comforts of your bath, all ceilings are wainscoted and floors are made with local
quarry stone.
For your comfort, we have central heating and air conditioning throughout our Cullowhee bed and
breakfast. Rooms also have ceiling fans. With our location, this is the ideal place to stay when you
need Western Carolina University lodging.
The Victoriana
A queen size bed made from a willow tree. Its arched bent vines make a very unique headboard.
Decorated with antiques and Victorian golden oak furnishings, lavish bath with a claw foot tub and
separate shower, vaulted beamed ceiling, French doors, balcony with river and mountain views.
The Mountain High
Queen size mountain made log bed. Decorated with arts and crafts and mission oak furnishings.
Full bath with a claw foot tub and separate shower. Vaulted beamed ceiling, French windows and
door onto balcony with mountain views.
In The Wild
Queen size mountain made four-poster log bed, full bath with tub/shower. Decorated with wood
carvings, arts and crafts, and antique furnishings. This room also has vaulted beamed ceiling,
French doors and French windows, and leads onto balcony with mountain views.
Mallards In Flight
Twin mountain made log beds. Private bath with oversized shower for two. Woodcarvings,
watercolors, and golden oak furnishings. Exposed beamed ceiling. View of waterfall, forested
pines, and a glimpse of the river
The Trout and Creel
Queen size mountain made log bed. Private bath with oversized shower for two. Decorated with
antique fishing items. American Indian motif, arts, and crafts. Antique maple furnishings. View of
waterfall, forested pines and river.
Hideaway Suite
Private entrance leads you into a cozy suite with a stone wood-burning fireplace. Your very own
whirlpool for two. A spiral staircase takes you up to a sleeping loft and a full bath with tub/shower. A
unique queen size mountain made silver maple and willow bed. Cathedral beamed ceiling. View of
waterfall, pine forest, and mountain views. Perfect for that "Special Occasion."

A deposit of one night's stay is required at the time of making your reservation. The River Lodge is
adult-oriented, therefore young adults over thirteen are most welcome
No pets please. We are sorry if this is an inconvenience.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your reservation please notify us at least ten days prior to your reservation date
for a full refund on your deposit.
Notice of cancellation received less than ten days from the date reserved will be subject to deposit
forfeiture unless we are able to rent your room to another guest, minus a $10.00 administrative fee.
